Welcome to the web site of the "First International Conference on Regional Development" organized by the  Firat Development Agency,   in cooperation with the Social Sciences Research Society. Firat Development Agency is a government funded organization in charge of regional development.   This major international event is going to be held in Malatya, Turkey from 22-23 September 2011.   This is a conference for those, who are interested in presenting paper in the fields of regional development. The aim of the conference is to bring together a wide audience of academicians, policy makers and practitioners around clearly circumscribed topics, engage participants in fruitful debate, and facilitate mutual understanding.  An additional goal of the conference is to provide a place for academicians and professionals with inter-disciplinary/ multi-disciplinary interests related to regional development to meet and interact with members inside and outside their own particular disciplines.   The accepted full papers will be published in the proceedings.
